The official website for Chicago-based pianist, keyboardist, guitarist and composer Rob Clearfield. A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, Rob has performed and recorded with John Wetton, Rakalam Bob Moses, Fareed Haque, Howard Levy, Makaya McCraven, eighth blackbird, Ernie Watts, Isaiah Sharkey, Patricia Barber, Rogerio Boccato, Steve Gorn, Salar Nader, Juma Santos, Joe Sanders, Justin Brown, Zach Brock, Melvin Butler, Greg Ward, Marquis Hill, Caroline Davis, and many more. He is the regular pianist/keyboardist with Matt Ulery, Grazyna Auguscik, Itamar Borochov, Outertown, and Hood Smoke, and currently leads his own trio featuring bassist Curt Bley (Hal Russell NRG Ensemble) and drummer Quin Kirchner (Wild Belle). Past original music projects have included The Rob Clearfield Quintet (featuring Scott Burns, John Kregor, Patrick Mulcahy and Eric Montzka) and Information Superhighway (featuring Leslie Beukelman, Patrick Mulcahy and John Smillie). In addition to performing, Rob has received commissions to compose for churches (Grace Commons), stage productions (Purdue North Central University), and film (The Lost Remake of Beau-Geste), and is currently the Artist in Residence at LaSalle Street Church in Chicago. To date, he has released six recordings of his original music:
